The Old Knitting Factory is a historic building on the shore of Lough an Mhuillin, just under an hour from Galway City and accessible by public transport, minutes from the village of Carraroe and the famous Coral Strand beach. Our private retreat room features a double bed, fridge, kettle, and continental breakfast included.

Writer Betsy Cornwell is working to turn the building into a childcare-inclusive arts retreat space, and funds from Airbnb guests contribute toward that goal.

Applications for fully funded retreat spaces currently open once a year in the spring; we are hoping to offer more frequent funded residencies after we finish renovating the space.

In the meantime, the space is open to all single parents on a sliding scale; simply make a booking request using the link below and include a message saying how much you are able to pay for your stay, and we will make it happen!

We are also open to work-exchange stays, especially for people with home renovation, gardening, and fundraising skills.
